The ‘Call to Action’ patients are looking for!

call to actionFor every healthcare provider out there, there’s 10,000 consumers perusing their website. They’re looking for something and hoping the doctor has the answer. At the same time, the doctor is hoping to capture that patient. To do so, they’ll put various ‘call to action’ buttons or links on their site. ‘Schedule Online’ or ‘Book Now’ they scream. Big buttons, blinking buttons, buttons that cascade from the top to the bottom of the screen. ‘Chat with Someone’ they promise. But none of those call to action buttons are what they’re looking for.

What ‘Call to Action’ button does John Q. Public want?

Every consumer, especially those paying out of pocket for a healthcare service because it’s cosmetic or because they haven’t met their deductible, wants to know how much it’s gonna cost them. That’s right, they want a “Get A Quote Now” button like the one above. It’s so simple and obvious but at the same time, healthcare providers the nation over are resisting.

With this new administration, price transparency will hold a crucial role. State and Federal government will start to require it. But it needs to be good information. With up to date pricing, consumers will know what their financial responsibility is before committing to a particular procedure or service.

We found that a Price Estimator alone is not enough. The patient needs to find it. I know that seems like a shallow and pedantic bit of advice but its important. When a web developer places a Pricing tab along the top bar of a website (1st tier) and/or a call to action button like “Get a Quote Now” on the home page, the consumer was more likely to find the Price Estimator and that doctor got 12X’s more leads than a doctor that didn’t follow our best practices.
