Botox and CoolSculpting

botoxThree of the biggest non-surgical services within the cosmetic realm are BOTOX®, Juvederm and CoolSculpting. Now the maker of Botox and Juvederm (Allergan) is teaming up with the makers of CoolSculpting. Here are the details and a little background.

Botox, for those of you that don’t know, is an injectible compound that relaxes muscles that cause wrinkles in the face. The wrinkles best treated with Botox are the “11’s” in between the eyebrows, the forehead wrinkles and the crow’s feet around the eyes. After Botox is injected, the effects start within 1-3 days, hit its maximum effect at 7 days and lasts 3-6 months.

Juvederm is a filler made of hyaluronic acid (the same fluid in your joints) used for treatment of wrinkles but not the kind caused by overactive muscles. Juvederm can fill in creases caused by a loss of collagen. The most common areas to treat with Juvederm are the parentheses lines extending from the nose down to the corners of the mouth and the sunken areas under the eyes.

CoolSculpting on the other hand isn’t for wrinkles but for fat! Coolsculpting is a non-surgical, permanent treatment to reduce stubborn pockets of fat in the upper arms, flanks, bra fat, abdomen, inner and other thighs. It really works, as can be seen in these photos.

Now with Allergan’s (the maker of Botox and the filler Juvederm) Brilliant Distinctions program, you can earn points and get discounts when receiving CoolSculpting and Botox or Juvederm at the same time. For every treatment of Botox and Juvederm, you’re credited with 200 points towards your Brilliant Distinctions account. Collect enough points and you get a discount off future Botox or Juvederm treatments. Not only that, you get $100 off your CoolSculpting treatment when receiving CoolSculpting and Botox and/or Juvederm during the same visit.
