Under Eye Bags? Now you have options!

For patients that have under eye bags, you have so many more options than you did just a few years ago. These options range from totally non-invasive (no needles), to non-surgical (needles but no surgery and no downtime) to minimally invasive (surgery but minimal downtime).

If you have under eye bags, you can consider the following three options depending on how aggressive you want to be with treatment and how much time you have on your hands. First, the totally non-invasive option is Neotensil. Neotensil is a topical ointment that is like Spanx for the under eye bags. With a once-daily application, you can better conceal your under eye bags without surgery. Granted it only lasts for about 16 hours but at least it’s an option to cover up those bags for an important meeting or party.

If you want to go one step further up the under-eye-bag-treatment ladder, then look to fillers. While fillers don’t remove under eye bags, they can help camouflage them a bit by injecting filler into the deep crease below the under eye bag so that there’s a smoother transition from the lower lid to the cheek, thus hiding the under eye bag.

Last but not least, you can remove the under eye bags surgically but in a very elegant way. By making an incision on the inside of the lower eyelid, the fat that causes the under eye bag can be removed. After removal, no stitches are needed to close the incision. Since the only incision is on the inside of the lower lid, there’s no visible scar. Most patients in my experience have no pain postoperatively but they do have bruising which resolves over the course of a week.

Most important to point out is that with all three options, there’s almost no downtime and you can return to work or at least work from home. Find a board certified plastic surgeon near you and also find out the cost of all of these procedures by clicking here.
