Sculptra® Aesthetic is an injectable treatment that uses poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biodegradable synthetic material that is gradually and naturally absorbed by the body and helps rebuild lost collagen through a series of treatments.

Collagen production in the body decreases with age and sun exposure, causing wrinkles and fine lines. The treatment is injected into the deep skin layers where it initially fills wrinkles with PLLA beads. As these beads biodegrade, they can stimulate new collagen production in the treated areas. Sculptra® Aesthetic works over time, deep within the skin, to enhance natural collagen production, strengthening the skin's structure, and restoring lost facial volume due to aging.

Achieving the best results requires several treatment sessions, with a recommended interval of 4-6 weeks between injections. The specific number of treatments and vials required varies from person to person, depending on the extent of collagen loss. Typically, it's suggested to use 1-2 vials per treatment area, and around 4-6 or more treatments may be necessary to fully restore volume. For maintenance, 1-2 vials are recommended every 10-14 months, and the results can last for more than 25 months.
